Privacy Impact Assessments
The Army Medical Department is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of the personal information entrusted to our care. Section 208 of the E-Government Act of 2002 requires all government agencies to conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) for information technology systems that collect, maintain, or disseminate personal information. The PIA is an analysis of how personal information is managed to ensure data handling procedures conform to applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements regarding privacy.
